I saw the original quilts at a quilt show last year. To say the least, they were stunning. So when I saw the book at this year’s quilt show, I decided to buy it. The book I saw came with full-size patterns so I expected that they would come with the book I purchased from Amazon. Unfortunately, they didn’t so I returned the book. There are quilters out there who can make due with the instructions and pictures in the book, but I can’t. If you are one of those lucky people, you will enjoy this book. The pictures are beautiful and clear, the writing style engaging, and the instructions seem easy to follow. You’ll enjoy just looking at the pictures!

This book is everything and more than I expected. Clear instructions, and wonderful easy to follow patterns. Patterns are packed separately from book which I find very convenient and neat. (No tearing pattern sections from the book.)

This book is absolutely beautiful! For those of you who had already cherished the original book The Story of the Root-Children, this a definite must have. The appliqued scenes are wonderful, and there is one mini quilt for each season – how beautiful they would look hanging above a nature, or seasonal, table. I just got my copy and can’t wait to get started on the Spring panel!
